The Fleck 7000 or Fleck 7000SE
What I thought was the second
best DIY water softener control.
I've learned it needs a special
tool as most Fleck controls do and... due to the variable
brining, it will use much more water than an identical softener
with a Clack WS-1 control valve. That means a higher water
bill for city water users AND in some cases a higher sewer
bill.
Because of the higher operating
costs for city water users and a much higher percentage of
problems than with the Clack WS-1, I've not sold any since
the spring of 2006 and do not propose them to anyone. If a
1.25" control and distributor tube is needed I use the
Clack WS-1.25.
